If you want to paint calligraphy on the lantern, plz use Xuan paper for your lantern, the Xuan paper is soft and absorbent. I think you can use some thread to bind the wood together, that’s very easy.

Hello, the lantern is beautiful! I’m trying to see if I can have my 5th grade class make this. If I want to paint calligraphy on the lantern, what paper do you suggest using? Also, aside from hammering a screw to hold the wood together, is there another way such as using a hot glue gun?
